About the Art

Each original collage is assembled from hand torn pieces of the daily New York Times.

Original works measure 11.25″ x 12.25″.

The Rules:

Each collage must have “The New York Times” banner as a central focus, this hand torn headline must also include the date as the time stamp of the work.

Each collage must include all or part of the slogan “All the News that’s Fit to Print”

Each collage must include all or part of the Front Page Weather report - typically a word - like “breezy” or “partly cloudy”

Each collage must include part of the daily crossword puzzle… either pieces from the blank puzzle, or - more often than not - a word from the answers to the previous days puzzle.

Each collage must include all or part of a rating emblem from the motion picture association.

Each collage must include a star.

These rules are an integral signature to the work… and yet are sometimes not adhered to, just ignored, and flat out broken… generally this happens for aesthetic reasons… and more often than that… just on a whim.
